Abstract

With the advent of Islam, there was a need to answer questions about the issues of this religion, especially after the martyrdom of the Amir al-Mu'minin (AS) and the emergence of a new sect, and consequently a debate over the legitimacy of this sect is necessary to scientifically discuss this issue. Regarding the necessity and importance of theology, it is enough to mention many verses in the Qur'an that are related to the defense of religion, as well as narrations from the Imams in which they recommend to their companions in this regard.
There are different opinions in the discussion of the definition and subject of science. In this regard, in the book Introduction to Islamic Sciences by Shahid Motahari, it is stated that: There are, therefore, different opinions expressed on this issue. But it is wrong to specify a definition and subject for this science. The reason for this is that having a specific subject in a science depends on the sciences in which the issues in that science have an inherent unity, while if the issues in a science have a credible unity, they can not have a single subject.
