Abstract

In the law of M. A, approved in 1392 in Article 262, "Prophet's punishment" as one of the divine limits and in the law of M.), approved in 1375 in Article 513, insulting Islamic holy things is criminalized as punishment. Cursing is a verbal insult that is close in meaning to ghazf; It means blasphemy, and if it is against the persons listed in Article 262 and its note, it is punishable by death, and if it is against other sacred persons, it is subject to Article 513 and is punishable. Insulting holy things is also included in Article 513, which in terms of criminal behavior includes insulting speech and behavior towards Islamic holy things. Comparatively, in the United States of America, before the passage of the Human Rights Bill in 1971, insulting the sacred was a crime in some states, and after the passage of this bill, it was decriminalized. In Lebanon, insulting religious holy things is a crime.
